“Growing up, I have always struggled in my relationship with my mom. Upon entering the Catholic Church on Easter Vigil of 2023, I understood the importance of Mary, but never felt a deep connection with her. Realizing that even though I may have a bad connection with my mom, I learned I can still grow in relation to Mary. So for the new year, my goal is to grow deeper into a relationship with our blessed mother. I have recently been praying for this and to feel her presence around me. I have also had this desire to wear a scapular, even though I wasn't sure what it stood for. During day 3 of SEEK 25, I prayed for a sign that Mary was with me and that I could grow closer to her. Later that day, I met the Carmelite friars and saw that they were enrolling people in scapulars. While being enrolled, Fr. Matthias explained this sacramental signifies Her presence and protection. At this moment, I felt an overwhelming sense of excitement and happiness. This was my sign that my prayers were being  answered and that I should continue to seek her love and wear the scapular as much as possible.”
