Yes.  When you are enrolled, it must be with the Brown Scapular, however, no special reason is needed today to substitute it afterwards with the Scapular Medal.   The Scapular Medal, which has an image of Our Lady of Mount Carmel on one side and the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the other, also maintains the perpetual blessing from your enrollment.
